In the general consciousness, the word “sin” is mistakenly synonymous with “sex”
In order for the Powers to control the actions of living beings, they must manipulate them. With animals, this is the means of carrying them through successfully the acts of life.
But a more complex problem is with man, who, being created in the image of God, with his own thinking very often stands against what the Powers force him to do, and thus man is also in the power of these forces.
Actions according to mechanisms of the Powers are often necessary, but they are also contrary to God’s Righteousness. Therefore it is written that presently, the flesh lusts against the Spirit and vice versa. Actions done for thrill and gratification are evil, unless they strictly follow God’s Laws. When people try to find their own ways to satisfy their needs, Lawlessness arises.
A free choice to accept or reject
However, the human mind can desire purity and it can desire to do only good things, because God has written in every heart the standards of what is good and what is not (often referred to as the Moral Law).
Belief in God the Creator, in God’s Son Jesus Christ and therefore faith in the truth of the Gospel is counted as Righteousness. In God’s perfect righteousness, each person can choose whether they want to reject God’s Law and therefore, without God, cease to exist, or whether they want to be freed from sin and live forever with God in the new heavens and new Earth.
The fleshly body controlled by the Powers is dominated by death. Therefore, when the principles of the Powers are abolished, it ceases to function, which is referred to in the Bible as the power of death. However, the resurrection of Jesus Christ proved that the physical, flesh-and-bone body can also be controlled and driven by God himself, and thus the Powers have no power over it. Thus the resurrected body is powered by God’s Spirit and is therefore immortal and imperishable. The source of energy and procreation of new life in such body is driven by God himself, independently of fulfilling the principles of the Powers.
Beware of popular manipulative lies that:
- that to be reconciled with God, you must first “put an end to sin” on his own, which is not possible and therefore no one would be saved if this were to be expected.
- that it is necessary to swear to God that you’ll never sin again.
- that God’s forgiveness is not unconditional.
- that the flesh is inherently evil (gnosticism) and cannot exist in a truly holy environment, which is not true since it will be resurrected to imperishability.
